Just as I was bracing myself for another week of withdrawl symtoms, My replacement arrived. Quick, switch it on - ON/D, BKSP, EVAL "Version E" - Beautiful. Complete with a brand-new set of batteries and the clock showing the correct (PST) time. 7 days door to door. HP had no obligation to do this but it is the customer care attitude that will ensure that the 48 is not my last HP. Actually I have had 8 models over the years and was only disappointed with the 28C. I loved all the others and learned a lot of maths from them, especially the interesting examples in the handbooks.
