Oops, my last post got away before I meant it to. One more thing: 286 and above motherboards require a power supply to send it an initializing pulse of some sort. If chassis you are using does not have one of these power supplies, you will experience weird errors (I am not sure what they would be), but this may be a contributing factor to your problems. I am not even sure if the power cables and connectors would be the same for the two different types of power supplies. To verify this, consult a book on the subject of "upgrading your PC". I read about this potential power problem in one of those books.
