Info request Summary: Looking for ports/debugging info Keywords: gcc gdb GNU m68332 background debugging Message-ID: <8229@plains.NoDak.edu> Date: 11 Feb 91 22:48:17 GMT Followup-To: comp.sys.m68k Organization: North Dakota State University, Fargo Lines: 24 This may have been asked about in the past but I am a recent joiner of this group. If it has been asked then just point me to the results. If not here goes. I am a graduate student at North Dakota State University and am starting to work with the Motorola 68332 chip. I am using GNU gcc and will be using GNU gdb. What I am wondering is if anybody has already written the machine description for the 68332 yet? Also has anybody tried to make gdb work with the background debugging mode in the 68332. I am planning on working on this to provide a method of minimum impact debugging on the target system while using publicly available tools. I know that Motorola offers a similar system for use on an PC or clone. The project I am looking at will use UNIX work stations as the support platform for the processors. I will be using gcc as a cross compiler. So any information on ports of GNU gcc, gas, and gdb to the 68332 would be nice to have. If I get responses I will summarize and post the results to the net. Thank you in advance. Dean Hoyt uunet!plains!hoyt (UUCP) hoyt@plains.bitnet (Bitnet) keeper of the pc archive on plains.
