Message-ID: <91042.214902GFX@psuvm.psu.edu> Date: 12 Feb 91 02:49:02 GMT Organization: Penn State University Lines: 28 I'd like to thank those who replied to my earlier posting on ci vs si. The overall impression I get is that the ci is a better machine (faster, easier to upgrade) but that the si is priced very attractively such that there is no clear cut answer. I'd like to know if we could be a little more specific in terms of performance differential (upgrading is not a major concern right now). If I run speedometer 2.5 on my ci, I get the following results w/o FPU w FPU KWhet: 104 895 Dhrys: 5,366 5,649 Sieve: 3.78 3.77 Savage: 22.667 7.233 CPU: 6.68 6.68 Math: 13.79 154 I/O: 3.23 3.23 Overall 7.42 N.D. How does the si compare? (everything above is in B/W mode) Thanks Stephane
