I work in a lab situation & have a problem with the students saving their files into the software & sometimes into the system folders. Yes, it would be easier to tell them that files saved there will be trashed but I still have to spend large amounts of time checking the various folders. I had in mind partitioning the disk with Silver Lining and locking the volume containing the System & software. The other volume would be set aside for students files. Is there a better product than Silver Lining for the job ? I have experimented with some of the commercial locking packages but they seem to encrypt as well. At the moment the Budget is very tight so I was wondering if there are any good shareware packages that might do the job ? graham.
