	Well I had the exact same problem as far as the generic documents
	coming up with MacPaint icons.  The problems was a DA/Application
	package called "Apple Draw" (no relation to Apple Co.).  The
	application munged the Desktop file so that all generic documents to
	display as MacPaint docs.  So I just trashed the Apple Draw
	application and rebuilt the the desktop and all was fine.  BTW: the
	Apple Draw DA seems pretty nice, but the application wasn't.

	I use the Desktop Manager also.  I think that the most recent
	Desktop Manager is 2.01.  I like the Desktop Manager, but I hate the
	way it has a file that is alway open.  For these types of problems,
	removing recently installed apps, and rebuilding the desktop is
	usually the solution.  Find the application that causing the problem
	is the difficult part.
