I have found that when rlogin'd to RISC/os 4.51 and running csh with
emacs line editing enabled causes the trouble I've described in the
referenced article.

If line editing is not enabled, then the problem does not exist.

I don't want to suffer with the csh with no emacs line editing :-(((

Any thoughts?
