There was a lot of stuff on it and I decided to back it all up and reinstall the OS. After doing the install, I had a problem with my extensions tape working properly. I tried to look at the tape manually and restore some stuff from it (by skipping to the sections that seemed to have relavent files on it) but before it gets to the man pages etc. I get a tar error (I think I was using tar...it could have been cpio though ) . Are man pages located on the extensions tape or do they come from somewhere else? I know they used to be on the system before but I don't want to flounder around with old backup tapes with unknown versions. Also, does anyone know what kinds of fees NCR charges for OS tape updates etc. How about 3rd party vendors for hardware. I would like to put this machine as a customer server but I am concerned about response time and part availability. Right now I am using clones with Xenix and would like to use the Tower for the same kind of thing. I guess it is hard to compete with clone price/availability on parts. Thanks in advance, Pete Jolly San Jose, California
