Is it possible? Is it advised? Message-ID: <1991Feb13.144049.3324@ulrik.uio.no> Date: 13 Feb 91 14:40:49 GMT Sender: root@ulrik.uio.no (Mr Root) Organization: University of Bergen, Norway. Lines: 26 I'm buying a used cube + upgrade, and would like to be able to use the cube while I wait (!) for the upgrade to arrive. I have a 105 Meg SCSI Connor drive in an external enclosure hanging around, and I wondered if I can build a partial 1.0 release on it (the cube has only a 40 Meg swap disk - _no optical_ :-( - it was on a network before) for use until the 040 and 2.0 arrive (on another 105 Meg drive). Has anybody done this before? Is a "disktab" the animal I need to get things going? Does anyone have a disktab for a Connor drive? The model number is:CP-3100, its got 4 disks, 8 heads, 1150 TPI, 204,864 Blocks (at 512 Bytes each), and 33 available sectors per track (34 physical). (Hope that helps...:-) I've never done this before, and I'm not at all versed in UNIX - I know only that its nothing at all like setting up a DOS or OS/2 PC. Any help is appreciated, please respond by e-mail. -- Thor-Lee Legvold | ppstl@nobergen.earn (or .bitnet) University of Bergen | ppstl@cc.uib.no NORWAY | and now on NeXT...
