Although the 4692 is listed as a supported printer in the software (and has its own filter), a call to the hotline informed me that there is a hardware incompatibility with Tektronix' Centronics implementation. On other Irises (not PIs) switching a resistor pack on the parallel board does the trick, but apparently the PI works differently. My soldering iron is ready to go, stop me before I kill again!
