I have just read the well-done FAQ files, and still have some
(probably frequently asked) questions:

1.  Are there some AWK, etc. routines to neatly strip all
of the TeX or LaTeX commands out of a (massive) document
and turn it into a "plain" text file?

2.  What is the "TEXTINFO" format that the GNU docs sometimes
refer to?

3.  For the benefit of others, can "Why is TeX often pronounced
'tek'?" be added to the FAQ?


Meanwhile, tracking down a good .DVI to .PS converter for MS-DOS
seems to be the most time-effective way for me to enter this
brave new world.  :-)
