Message-ID: <1991Feb12.165443.2478@ottsun1.uucp> Keywords: inode Sender: pickles@ottsun1.uucp (Clive Pickles) Organization: MPR Teltech Ltd., Ottawa, ON, Canada Distribution: na Date: Tue, 12 Feb 91 16:54:43 GMT Hi, I upgraded from SunOS 4.0.3 to 4.1 on a SUN 3/60 a couple of weeks ago, and at the same time added another external hard drive. Since then, I occasionally get a message on the console screen stating something like: Feb 8 11:38:24 ottsun1 vmunix: free inode /usr/local/41022 had 44 blocks Feb 8 11:38:24 ottsun1 vmunix: free inode /usr/local/41023 had 70 blocks This occurs when I am doing very intensive disk I/O on the /usr/local directory, which is a filesystem all on its own (size = 165 meg). Does anybody have any idea what this means? I never saw this under 4.0.3. Is it something to worry about, or is it just an information message. BTW, the system is running without error. Thanks. -- =================================================================== = Clive Pickles - Systems Administrator MPR Teltech Ltd.
