I would appreciate if anyone has recommendations about vendors, models, sizes, etc. Please e-mail me. I will post answers if there is any interest. Also experience with the type of load these machines put on a server is welcomed. We are considering putting them on the Ethernet and have a VAX and a DECstation be the font servers, etc. The requirements are: - screen larger than 15" - Ethernet and serial communication (no Slip... that doesn't work :-). What we are interested in finding out is: - maintainability - ease of use - reliability - speed (serial & Ethernet-wise) - how much do these beasties load the network or the connecting server The idea is to keep them around the Lab connected via Ethernet but later take them home (and use them with modems). Thank you very much for your attention.
