I waited a few days before replying to this and didn't see any responses (did I miss something?). And I'm sure you've heard about the loss of the AC-130H already. Just wanted to correct a few details. The AC-130H has 7.62 miniguns, 20mm Vulcan cannons, 40mm Bofors cannons, and the 105mm Howitzer mounted in the rear door. My dad flew the previous-version gunship out of Ubon up and down the Ho Chi Minh trail and he tells me the 105 really gave quite a kick. He also tells me that they would occasionally strap down someone with a rifle on the (partially) open ramp. -- John Hight, SRI International hight@sri.com 415-859-4279
