This seems a little low; according to figures I read in a magazine (can't remember which one) in 1990 Sun held 38% of the marketshare (but 27% of the revenue) with 141,800 units. Since most of Sun's SPARC sales probably occurred in 1990 the installed base is probably still under 200,000 units. Quite respectable, but not *that* much greater than the figure you quote.
