It is oriented toward number theory with many built in number theoretic functions. It comes with extensive documentation and many sample programs, including elliptic curve factorization, and mult. poly quad. seive factorization. Integer precision exceeds 2000 digits. Exact rational number arithmetic is built in. This is BASIC for a number theorist. It is NOT a computer algebra system. UBASIC is available via anonymous ftp from wuarchive.wustl.edu (128.252.135.4) These are the Washington Univ. St. Louis archives. The latest version is version 8.21 located as /mirrors/msdos/basic/ubas821.zip . Version 8.15, which I am currently using is there also. Undoubtedly it is available at a variety of other sites as well. You will need pkunzip (or equivalent) to uncompress it, since it is a zip file. ----------------------------------------- UBASIC is written by Yuji Kida Department of Mathematics Faculty of Science Kanazawa University 1-1 Marunouchi, Kanazawa 920, JAPAN.
