(Everett Kaser) Newsgroups: comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d Subject: Snarf bug workaround and new level Message-ID: <40790002@hpcvra.cv.hp.com.> Date: 20 Feb 91 17:22:25 GMT Organization: Hewlett-Packard Co., Corvallis, OR, USA Lines: 35 I've managed to track down the primary (I think) bug in the Snarf level editor which was causing levels to sometimes get corrupted. I want to do some more testing (and perhaps a little tweaking) before I release an update, but until then, you should be able to avoid the major problems with editing levels by NEVER pressing the space bar while the edit cursor is on top of the Hero, and don't place an object on top of the Hero. This is causing the Hero to be erased from the internal "level data", and the program assumes that he is always there. Oops. Meanwhile, you'll find below a "special" Snarf level that I think you'll find interesting to play. UUDECODE it, and then "ren snarflev.xxx snarflev.yyy", where "yyy" is the next level number after your last one. Remember that "yyy" must be filled with leading zeroes, so that the level number is right-justified in the file extension. ----------------------------- cut here ------------------------ section 1 of uuencode 4.13 of file SNARFLEV.XXX by R.E.M. begin 644 SNARFLEV.XXX M("`@5&AE($UA
