We are looking for an inexpensive PC based package that will run with a 3c503 Ethernet card. The package must have: Traffic - Utilization, Peak, Collision count Ability to store data and retrieve for later analysis MSDOS, EGA graphics capability Real time display We would like : C program interface for additional analysis programs that are written in house Ability to store data in spreadsheet format Audible alarm when utilization is exceeded Count how many "users" access a given ethernet, if not IP, address Display count of recieved packets by protocol For those who are interested, we need this as a temporary monitor of a hub for our campus wide network. We have to use a baseband cable to "bridge" together two 5MB broadband systems. This cable is a central point of failure and we need to monitor it continously. We will be getting a more sophisticated network monitoring system in the future, but we need the monitoring now. Thanks Larry
