I'm using Emacs to learn more about it (I'm really a 'vi' user :-) I'd like to be able to do a command, say ^K to delete a line, and then repeat it -- like doing a dd . in vi. Is there a command in Emacs that is analogous to the . in vi? Also, how does one insert a line, without doing CR, then ^P to move up to the newly-created line? I'd RTFM, but the index didn't list anything like what I was looking for.
