This is running under SVR4, using the AT&T supplied postscript printer filters. Postio sits forever waiting to print a job. The problem appears to be that the printer is always responding to a status request with "busy". It never sends "idle", so postio waits forever for the printer to become available. I tried opening the port and sending a control-T manually, with the same result - even after the printer is first powered on and no other bytes have been sent to the port. I am a complete novice with postscript, so I don't really know what the correct behaviour is. If I simply hose a postscript file directly out the serial port, ignoring the printer status, it prints just fine. Another question: is the JetPage cartridge any good? I thought that we were getting the HP Adobe cartridge, but I did not place the order myself. Should we send the JetPage back and get the HP? The JetPage seems awfully slow! More details tomorrow; it's getting late and I'm going home. Lee Ziegenhals (lcz@sat.datapoint.com)
