Mode = ASCII simply won't work, so that cannot be the problem.  More likely
you are trying to use old arc on them (you should have guessed that from
the fact that they are ALL .arc files) STrabble.arc, for example has
directories included in it.  I haven't seen ARC 6.0 for Unix, but it is
available on atari.archive in atari/archivers.

I'm not sure downloading `wouldnt hurt' - bandwidth is bandwidth.
STrabble.arc is about 370K you know.

If someone else who has successfully downloaded CRIBBAGE.ARC, FILSPY12.ARC or
STRABBLE.ARC could follow-up, that would be a help.
