If Apple did the work, third parties couldn't compete. Since software makes
the machine, Apple wants third parties -- even to the point that they don't
include such essentials like backup software for my hard disk! Did you miss
all the nasty opinions when Apple announced they were going to pull Claris
back into the fold?
