We are running SLIP on an ANNEX II terminal server @ 9.6
connected to an IBM-PC which is running PC-NFS.  Our connection
is "Direct" so we did not have to deal with the "Dial-up"
dialogue.  Only one problem so far, other than getting the Annex 
configured correctly:  NFSCONF removed the gateway options from
the setup-screen -- we simply added the gateway command to
networks.bat.
