The PAL grounding mod was written up in Amazing Computing Vol 3, #3 (1988). I've heard that they later changed the details on which pins to ground. I had another Amiga owner fix the diagram in my magazine with what he remembered, but I haven't attempted the mod, so I don't know if he got it right.
