The effect I see is that starting lpd is fine, but as soon as a job is queued, it dies, the lpr command hangs a while, then "...job is queued...unable to start daemon". Now with the job in the queue but lpd dead, I restart lpd. The job prints o.k., but on completion lpd dies. Next lpr command hangs... Running DN4500 Domain 10.3 and yes, /etc/ncs/llbd is running, Aegis printing is not running at all (prsvr and prmgr). ____________________________________________________________________________ pms415!reso@fmsrl7.srl.ford.com sevihc!reso@sharkey.cc.umich.edu RESO -ON D1D1 {sharkey|hela}!sevihc!reso Ford - Car Product Development, CAD/CAM Sterling Heights, MI USA Bldg3 1st Floor #1152 (313) 322-5867 (313) 939-2789
