Not sure about earlier versions though. APW 2.x can both retrieve and save text files. It is possible to set a printer to save text files as either "formatted" or "unformatted". Unfortunately, APW 2.x imposes its own formatting on files which you bring to the desktop i.e. the margin settings, and it is necessary to re-adjust them. In addition, (and I don't know about APW 3.0), APW 2.x exchanges # for any and all control characters in the file, with the exception of the carriage return. That is why it is necessary to run prospective imports through some kind of filter program to change LF's to CR's. I wish there was some way to permenantly change the default margins in APW 2.x to 0's all around. This would greatly decrease the likelyhood that a given file will be "too large" for the desktop when you import it. I have had that problem several times even though I have more than a meg of space on my desktop. Unfortunately, APW doesn't allow me to devote the entire meg to a single file. Just as a little footnote, I am reluctant to "step up" to APW 3.0 because I have a rather extensive collection of TimeOut add-ons that provide essentially everything that 3.0 offers without the apparent printing restricxtions that APW 3.0 has. I was told that it only supported ImageWriters. Is there any truth to that rumor?
