My understanding was that the 520STe comes with only 512K in a 
configuration of 2 256K SIMMs; moreover, it is only sold in Europe, 
not the US.  Also, the 1040STe has 1meg with 4 256K SIMMs.
 
The hard drive problem is over.  It has been for several months.
 
What to look for in a new STe: perhaps TOS 1.62.  But I wouldn't 
worry about it.  The desktop bug in TOS 1.6 is not a problem and I 
don't use STE_FIX.PRG.  I don't know what else they fixed.  Allan
Pratt or Dave Hanna, can you tell us what's fixed in 1.62 and if it's
shipping in new STes.
