To get 2.5meg with SIMMs on an ST/Mega, you need a JRI SIMM board (I don't know of anyone else who distributes them in the US, but there may be quite a few in Europe), 2 one-meg SIMMs, and 2 256K SIMMs. You cannot use 10 256K SIMMs and get 2.5meg because of the way things are designed. I would explain the reason to you, but I don't know it either.
