On the HP ftp there are a couple of .arc files. On the LSU site there is a .tar.z file. At FUNIC.FUNET.FI there seems to be a collection of net articles. In all cases I can read the ascii index's but don't know how to get the actual files. I think step 1 is to tell my ftp> pgm to xfr in binary; that seems to work ok. Do the files get un archived on my VAX or do I need to binary xfr to my PC and un arc there? Do some files get unarc'd in UNIX before being sent to the PC? Can I get just one article from the FUNIC site or do I get everything and unpack it some how later? I also am having some trouble doing binary xfr from the UNIX VAX to my PC, but, I think that is just a problem with my use of the PC terminal emulator. Again, I'm ok if files are ascii, it's just the arc'd things that I have trouble with. Thanks in advance for help. Joe Geller Email: geller@bnlux0.bnl.gov
