He was told that personal computers and related hardware have been recently declassified (or a word like this) and that all he had to do was ship it. No permits are required for shipments of under $2500.00 value. Above this he has to fill out a single sheet form which is an instant export permit. I believe he said he just has to give this to the shipper (though I could be wrong here). In any event, he doesn't have to wait for any permits or approvals. He was also told that there are only about 8 countries the US still doesn't do business with. Guess who's one of them; yup, you guessed it, IRAQ. The Soviet Union and most Soviet Block Contries are NOT on this list of 8. If you don't believe this, call the government. There is an office like the above in just about every state (some even have more than one). -- Eugene J.
