I believe that it is the hard disk, but it could be the controller (but the A-drive appears to be fine). Some more tests tomorrow should provide me with more information. Obtaining the existing data is not a concern since I have tape backups (which I presume to be in tact, but I have not consulted Murphy. :-) ) The current HD is a Miniscribe 40 Meg 65 ms Model 3650 (although the Fawmapper says HDA: 34041 and TN: 4095-7L). I believe that a file called dmdriver.sys controls it. What I need to know is: Should I just replace the HD or should I get a new controller board as well? I want to get a faster and bigger drive. Does anyone know what type this drive is? (MFM or RLL). Please respond via e-mail. Thanks for your help. David
