Need authoritative answer Summary: To cycle power on PCs or leave them on all day? Keywords: power Message-ID: <1991Feb19.225414.21466@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu> Date: 19 Feb 91 22:54:14 GMT Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 12 Can anyone give me an authoritative answer (maybe a study or something?) on the damage of turning a machine on and off several times a day vs. the power usage of the machine. I know that this question comes around every once in a while, but I'm really looking for a "real" quote (publication, etc.) or a study. Even a bibliographic pointer would be great. Thanks a lot. -- David Lemson U of Illinois Computing Services Student Consultant Internet : lemson@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu UUCP :...!uiucuxc!uiucux1!lemson
