Message-ID: <80330014@hpl-opus.hpl.hp.com> Date: 20 Feb 91 20:39:47 GMT Organization: HP Labs, High Speed Electronics Dept., Palo Alto, CA Lines: 13 I want to copy some files from a friend's PC to mine via our modems. Just how is this done? I assume that one of us sets our modem to auto answer, and then the other dials the number and connects. But it seems trickier than that. Perhaps the dialee has to run some special software that allows the dialer to tell the dialee to send/receive a file. How do the buletin boards accomplish this? I don't have any trouble getting files when I call a buletin board. I just don't understand what the PC on the other end does to allow me to dial in. thanks for any help, tom
