Message-ID: <496@cronos.metaphor.com> Date: 18 Feb 91 08:04:21 GMT Sender: news@cronos.metaphor.com Organization: Metaphor Computer Systems, Mountain View, CA Lines: 19 Originator: morandi@laramie I have inherited a PS/2 model 30 (286 AT-bus) but without any documentation. After I tried to install a memory card, I started getting errors at boot time which persist even though I removed the card. The symptoms occur during boot just after the memory tests complete. Error code "162" appears followed by two beeps and then error code "163" then a message to press F1. If this was a PS/2 with an MCA bus, these symptoms would indicate a configuration problem. I'd put in the reference diskette and reconfigure it. Do model 30s have a reference diskette or do they have dip switches that need to be modified when you are adding a RAM card? If you can give me some hints on this problem please reply by mail. Thanks. David Morandi Metaphor Computer Systems
