Are they the same? They are not quite the same. The 1100FD does not have a backlit screen and cannot be expanded with an additional meg of RAM. I think it must be more like a CF150A or something. Both have DOS 3.3 in ROM, but the Tandy also has the Deskmate interface and Deskmate's word processor and spellchecker in ROM -- not great software, but handy if you're stuck without and editor. I like my 1100FD a lot. No backlighting means 3 hours or more on battery between recharges.
