We have two Macs and one printer, and we want to hook them up together. Both computers have AppleTalk (I assume), but the printer doesn't (HP Deskwriter, if you didn't read the subject line). Is it possible to hook them up using an A/B switch or something? I have heard that it is not a good thing to connect a Mac to a printer while the Mac is on. Is switching with the A/B box considered connecting to a printer? Is it possible to get a cheap upgrade to get AppleTalk on the Deskwriter? (I know that the new Deskwriters have AppleTalk). Thanks in advance for any replies. seeya! Erik Hanson University of Maryland, Baltimore County ehanson@umbc2.umbc.edu
