With all items in separate fields, you may want to look at the font-settings screen, and change the "leading" downward in size about 2 points. I.E. for 12-point text, normal leading is 13 (?) -- set it to 11. I have used a variation of this trick in HC 1.2.5 to accommodate some spacing problems and have not encountered any bad side effects.
