StuffIt Deluxe has a scripting feature that lets the user create anything from simple "batch" unbinhex and unstuff routines to fairly elaborate scripts for backup. Scripts can be created with a "Record Script..." option (similar to the "Write for me" procedure command in White Knight). The resulting procedure files can be tweaked with a text editor, and executed by double-clicking on the Procedure file icon. It would be nice if the archive/dearchive part of the operation was as fast as Compact Pro or DiskDoubler, but it is indeed a "set it up & leave" operation. On balance, I find that the scripts save more time than is wasted by StuffIt's slowness. -- Bill Johnston (johnston@oscar.ccm.udel.edu) -- 38 Chambers St.; Newark, DE 19711; (302)368-1949
