Message-ID: <1991Feb14.102837.25335@bronze.ucs.indiana.edu> Date: 14 Feb 91 10:28:25 GMT Sender: daemon@bronze.ucs.indiana.edu (Mr Background) Organization: Indiana University Lines: 27 Here's a wierd one: For some time I've been noticing the following: At seemingly random intervals the screen redrawing seems to slow way down. In particular, a large window will vanish from top to bottom, taking almost a second to disappear. (The zoom effect is turned off) Small windows do it too. Going to the control panel & changing from 256 colors to 16 & back will "reset," if you will, whatever is causing the problem. This happens intermittently on my si; I've also noticed it on a ][ whenn sim city was being run. And now: I just got ResEdit 2.1 and (this has happened twice) when I click on the "splash screen" the dark blue background turns bright yellow and i get the above "slowdown. When I went to the control panel, I found that the little graph of 256 colors was turned sideways! By that I mean that the little stripes which normally run horizontzlly ran vertically (i can see this is hard to describe in words). Using the technique of changing the display modes cures the problem. Any ideas, folks???
