Of course, where else would they put it? 2 more notes on the Classic: 1. The diskless ROM Boot does not work on a system with a hard drive. So no "today I'd rather boot from the server, thank you." 2. On the back cover, over the power switch, is a little panel that comes off. I assume that the expansion slot (called by Apple the "Memory Slot") is right behind it. This would make the "My SE has a slot and the Classic doesn't" argument moot.
