I have generated several different fonts but cannot find a mode_def that is appropriate. The generated glyphs are either too light or the enclosed whitespace gets filled in. The fundemental problem seems to be that I don't have enough experience with METAFONT to really know what parameters I should be changing. Are there any papers in back issues of TUGboat, etc. that could give me a better handle on this. Even something describing low res dot matrix or thermal printers would help. Thanks a lot, -- J.T.
