Now the result and happy news: clock speed detacted by clock.exe for Swan SVGA equipped with VCO chip: 25.2 28.3 32.5 36.0 40.0 44.9 55.9 64.8 Your results may vary slightly taking into account manufacturing variations. In Xconfig, the easiest way I can think of is to add one entry as follows: ET4000 1024 1152 900 25 28 32 36 40 45 56 65 "800x600" #Swan SVGA and then uncomment the standard 800x600 entry already provided in Xconfig built after Stanford VGA BIOS. Other modification would be editing the display size from the default to 250 185 as documented in p.15 of NEC Multisync II's user's manual. It works for NEC Multisync II (*NOT* IIa) and Swan SVGA combo. In fact I am typing this message from a xterm using such res now. Note: if your monitor is capable of higher res (say 1024x728) Swan SVGA should be able to make it given above clock speed listing. So the VCO chip used on Swan SVGA will not defeat clock.exe and if you are so inclined, call 1-800-648-9044 to place an order.
