A friend of mine with a DEC 3100 has very recently gotten
a very strange response to the "w" command:

		no kmem

/dev/kmem seems to be there, /usr/adm/wtmp seems fine and /etc/utmp 
seems fine.  

But "w" gives "no kmem"
