Just as a shot in the dark, try v7vga.gr3 instead of vga.gr3 if you're
running in 386 mode.  Also make sure you copied your 256 color driver to
the right directory!  Then be sure you have more XMS and virtual memory,
since Windows has more to swap around in 256 color mode.
