I just installed 4DOS on my 386box, and generally I'm very happy with it. I was interested in something I saw in the COMPAT.DOC file re running in a window under Win3, namely that occasionally it comes up with colors set to black on black, and that this is supposedly due to a bug in some Win3 video card drivers, and is not a fault of 4DOS. Well, it happened to me once: the 4DOS window came up all black, and after a second or two I got dropped out of Windows altogether. My video board is a TVGA using the Trident 8800 chipset and 256K, and I'm using the version of the Trident drivers that came out sometime in mid-'90 distributed as the file V2KW30.LZH (I think that's right). My question is: does anyone know for a fact whether the above-mentioned bug occurs in this version of the driver, and is there a corrected version available? dhf@linus.mitre.org
