Message-ID: <27017@uflorida.cis.ufl.EDU> Date: 20 Feb 91 03:43:45 GMT Sender: news@uflorida.cis.ufl.EDU Organization: Quantum Theory Project, Univ. of Florida Lines: 21 Originator: bernhold@red8 We're about to switch our users from one news server to another. Of course the article numbers are out of sync, so everyone's .newsrc files will have to be "fixed" somehow. The simplest thing from my point of view, is of course to just say noone's read anything and let the users catchup in the newsgroups they read. We're not a real big news site, so this is not _real_ bad, but I'd like to find a better solution if possible. I seem to recall a similar discussion & someone posting a program/script to "adjust" article numbers in the .newsrc. If anyone has such a tool, or can point me towards it, I (and my users!) would be greatful! Thanks in advance. -- David Bernholdt bernhold@qtp.ufl.edu Quantum Theory Project bernhold@ufpine.bitnet University of Florida Gainesville, FL 32611 904/392 6365
