Yesterday's news showed some footage of what appeared to be a French
1st generation image intensifier weaponsite mounted on a handheld
missile launcher (SAM-7?).

If my ID was correct, could someone answer:

1) What is the detection range of an aircraft with natural illumination?

2) What is the detection range of an aircraft if steering up the jet
engine as a point source emitter?

3) What is the detection range of an aircraft using afterburner?
