The US has it share of contaminated buildings and ground (such at ex-Fort Detrick, MD and at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah). It is unclassified that anthrax and botulin spores can survive several hours in boiling water. I am not aware of exact level and extent of contamination which is probably need to know.
