  Fire Support logistics planners talk in terms of Available Supply Rate
  (ASR) and Required Supply Rate (RSR).  ASR is what's available in the
  Theater.  RSR is what is required by the firing units for their planned
  missions.  It's another 'system'.  At every echelon - division and above -
  there is an logistics officer whose sole duty is planning for ammunition
  resupply - establishing ammunition points and the movement forward of
  ammo.  

  (I think I talked about ammo logistics without answering your questions).
