You are asking for alot. In our area maintenance is done by the phone company in the middle of the night and unless you tell them you will lose the connection once in a while due to their routine maintenance. I would not assume you will be able to stay on line for extreme long periods. If you do go with v-32 I would configure the modems to tolerate periods of poor line quality so the connection would not be dropped as is configured in some default configurations. Check with your vendor for this information. You might have better luck with a PEP telebit type modem but interactive performance might suffer. I have noticed thatPEP is more tolerant of poor line quality or long distance connections than v-32modems. Vernon P.S. Its all magic anyway and your results may vary
